Today I started my girls on Apple cider vinegar and garlic in their water. It’s one tablespoon of Apple cider vinegar per gallon. Apple cider vinegar could have health benefits for chickens just like it does for humans it supports the immune system. It has a lot of vitamins. It can help with digestion and making it less friendly for little bad critters to enter your chickens. One clove of garlic in their water. It is said that the garlic will help keep mites away…( my girls do not have mites I give them the garlic because just like for people it is healthy. ) because they don’t like the taste of garlic in the blood. This was told to me by a farmer. I’ve done my own research to me it makes sense to try it out. Others say that the garlic is just a myth. Just like anything you are going to have people with their own way of doing something.. some say this works others say it doesn’t. Do your own research and find out what works best for you!

garlic works great for pest in the garden too š but I’m surprised that the chickens don’t mind the garlic flavored water, I may have to try with my chickies š

You can save a lot of money buying Braggs ACV by making your own! Pour some Braggs into a quart mason jar about 1/4-1/3 full. Fill to within 1″ of top with cheap store brand regular apple cider vinegar. Cover with a coffee filter and just the band so that it can breathe. Put in your kitchen cabinet and forget for 3 weeks. Check to see how the scoby is growing. It should be ready but can take longer in colder months. You now have a quart of very healthy ACV! Now take a new quart jar and pour 1/4-1/3 full with your new ACV, fill it up with the cheap store brand, top with coffee filter and put away for 3 weeks while you use your freshly made batch. Keep it going indefinitely! You will never run out! It’s so much cheaper and you will be amazed at the scoby you can grow!
