  • Back to school

For many of us, we have been on winter break from school. It’s a nice two weeks that just like any other vacation goes by way to fast! With that being said I really don’t want to go back to school!!! I enjoyed the mornings with no alarm clock going off. Well the baby is kinda like alarm clock, but at least he’s a cute one, not having to rush to get breakfast done. My older kids are not morning people, so trying to have them pick between cheerios or captain crunch is like being on a game show, and you’re not sure you should pick door number two or three, or having to start school at eight am and spend my days doing school and then everything that comes in the day. Now back onto a schedule again counting down the days until spring break!! #busylifehappylife #school #likesvacationbetter

  • B & P

Over the last few days I’ve gotten some B & P ( baking &painting) done. For my painting I used the colors pink, red, and purple for my leaves. At first I wasn’t sure if it was going to look right but now that I’m all done with it, it reminds me of the Valentine’s heart candies!

For my baking that I was able to get done was cheesecake egg rolls. They were fun to make. However the egg roll part didn’t get over so well with the four older kids.

    I however liked them… more for mom 😂😂 #lovebaking #lovepainting #funday #moreformom

  • Fluffy butt

Today was a nice day where I’m at. I let the girls (chickens) run around. Since I’m a back yard chicken hobbyist I don’t let the girls free range like if they were on a farm. They do however get their time out of the coop.

My kids have a trampoline. I took plastic fencing, and placed it around the bottom of the trampoline, using zip ties to hold it in place. This way my girls can get out of the coop and still be safe.

  • Liebster Award!

I was nominated for the Liebster Award! Wow!!

A big Thank you to Lovingthejourney.net for the nomination!  She has a wonderful blog that I enjoy reading, and viewing the photos.  I highly suggest you check her blog out!

When writing a blog or anything for that matter we all want the same thing.  To have our writing liked or loved if we are lucky enough to  ever get that far, that’s why I was really surprised that I was picked!  When one is reading this, they might be thinking, “What in the world is a Liebster Award?”  This is an award for bloggers by bloggers. We nominate each other and ask questions to the nominee while answering our own.

The following instructions for accepting the award:

    1. Post the award on your blog.
    2. Thank the blogger that nominated you this award and link back to their blog.

    4. Create a new set of your own questions for other bloggers to answer.

    Here are my questions

    1. Why did you start blogging? I’ve always enjoyed writing. I have been putting off for many years, doing a blog.  After all, being a mom of five is not easy, and it makes for long and crazy days.  They are good crazy days though, and I wouldn’t change anything for the world. I did it to show my kids that no matter how crazy your life gets, if it’s important to you, you will find away.
    1. What are your blog goals for 2018?   To get more followers!
    2. What keeps you motivated? My husband & close friends.  Even on the craziest days we have in our family my husband still believes in me.
    3. What is your passion outside of blogging? Painting
    4. Is your family supportive of your blog? YES!
    5. What is your favorite blog post of yours for 2017 and why? My potty training blog post, because it got the most likes and comments.
    6. How do you find balance in blogging and your personal life? Some days are difficult to find balance, but just like anything in life, you make it work.  You make the time.
    7. What is your 5-year goal? To have a hobby farm!
    8. Who is your biggest inspiration for your blog? My chickens and kids.
    9. What is the biggest lesson you have learned about blogging since you first started? It is very difficult!

    My questions for other bloggers:

    Why did you start blogging?

Do you enjoy it as much as you thought you would?

If you could do one thing what would it be?

    What’s your goal in life?

I can’t express enough, my thanks for this nomination!  Mj

  • Mom’s escape

Today I went painting with one of my good friends.

The canvas we were using was not made for short people! 🤣

We got the background done. I didn’t get the swirls in mine but I still like how it turned out.

Doing the stems, leaves, and paint splattering! My stems look like thick straws you know the kind you get with Slurpees! At the end I added more color to my leaves. You will see that in the final photo.

Next adding the flowers.. well that’s the nice thing about art there really isn’t a wrong way. So it’s okay that my flowers look like smashed tomatoes 🤣🤣.

Finally I’m done! I added some dark red on top of the bright red. White dots in the middle and voila I’m done.. I like what I have here wish I had more paint splattering on it. Other than that I’m happy with it! #lovepainting #art #whocareswhatanyoneelsethinksaslongasyoulikeit #funwithfriends

  • Names!

I’ve been working on what to call my coop. I have the plaque.

I painted it red but I’m not sure what to make my coop.. any ideas? Post some in the comments!

    Nothing distasteful please!

  • Bows and cleaning

Today I cleaned out a closet. I know.. I really know how to live it up. 😂😂😂 I hate cleaning out closet but I really hate that one, its under the stairs and I always smack my head on the beam. You would think I would remember it’s there after all these years. I look like Chevy Chase in Christmas Vacation movie when he gets trapped up in the attic and he hits his head on multiple things. After I was done getting goose eggs on my head I decided to make some bows for my little project for the day.

    These are abstract flower bows!

  • Hot wheel & the sink

Merry Christmas! I hope everyone Christmas eve and day was good. Our Christmas eve was eventful! Little back story… my one year old has been learning about putting stuff in the sink/ washing hands. Every time he would put something in ( like a cracker or his sippy cup) we would clap. Fast forward to Christmas eve. My daughter and I were baking banana bread. I went to put the eggs shells in the garbage disposal. Turned it on and it made a really odd noise. So I feel around in there and what do I feel….

this Hot wheel truck! The bed of the truck was wedged Under the Blade of the garbage disposal. I cut up my finger pretty good trying to get it out. I called a few people with hopes that they would be able to come out and help. Broom handle didn’t work .. in fact it broke my broom handle. The next person coming over to help brought a crow bar! That did it.. and it only took a few hours. (3 hours of me trying before I called for help) #makesurenothingisinthere #neverdullatmyhouse #myfingerhurts

  • Little joys in life

I love snow globes! Through out the years they have either gotten broken by moving or the kids. I had one left, it was a small one had a white tiger cub in the middle of it. I loved it. Then the other day it got broken 😭. As I cleaned up the mess my husband said not to be upset that I could start a new collection of snow globes. To cheer me up he got me this one to start with. It has a fox in the middle of it. 😁😁😁🖤#besthusband

  • Winter girls

My girls ( chickens ) are doing good this winter. We had some snow the night before. They didn’t mind🤣. They are still laying eggs. Yay! I found Medusa sitting on four eggs this afternoon.

Here she is showing off her beauitful tail feathers!

Medusa posing nicely for the camera!

    The beauitful eggs!
