A good amount of work was done this week. We got all the sod laid, all the fruit trees into bigger pots, the new grown lights were put in for the indoor garden area, school desks were cleaned out and are ready for the new books, and got a lot of eggs pickled. Also getting a good amount of harvesting started for the berries, strawberries, and broccoli! Can’t forget the eggs! Lots of quail and chicken eggs!!

I also ground our eggshells up for the quail. The oyster shell sometimes is too big for the quail. I like that we can use everything and not waste!

I also had some fun with taking some selfies. I made some of our masks. My Lucifer one I bought. I really like that one. Then there are the photos of me in my new hat.

As every day I tend to the garden. I’m up very early to water everything as much as I love my garden I would rather be sleeping at 4am but the animals and the garden need to get started on for the day. While out watering I noticed that my broccoli has starting to grow a broccoli head. 😀

I’m very excited about this. In the past years I never could get broccoli to grow. Part of this plant we will let it go to seed. The other plant that I’m also excited about is my purple cauliflower!

I’m glad today is Friday! Potty training is going well with #5 and school is almost out for the summer for us. I think I’m more excited for summer break than they are. Things are growing good in the garden. My broccoli is huge this year.

My husband surprised me with a few dwarf apple trees!

In about 2 years they should start producing fruit. For mothers day my family ordered me a pear tree I’m excitedly waiting for that to arrive! I also spent the day making so masks. We have to wear them to go to the dentist.

I think I need to find some skull fabric or some fabric with flames on it. This week I’ve been working on getting items caned I got 17 jars of Mandarin oranges done and 6 jars of pear BlackBerry cinnamon jam made/done. I have lots more to can but tomorrow I will be taking a small break to celebrate mine and my husband’s anniversary! We will be married 19years! Since where I live is still on lockdown we will be getting take out and watching a movie at home after the kids go to bed. Wow 19 years and 5 kids! Time sure does fly by.

Its May already! Time goes fast for me! This past week I’ve spent a lot of time in the yard. My husband and I planted lots of lilac trees, pulled some weeds which made girls (chickens) very happy, and I made lots of jam. I decided one of jams I would try making is dandelion jam.

It turned out very good. It took me two days to make. It taste like honey. One of my good friends gave me some Blackberries I will be making jam out of those

I will also be making dragons fruit jam

The time has come once again to potty train!! If you been following for a while then you know from when I potty trained #4 that I don’t like potty training. I’m thankful that #5 is my last one that I have to this with. My older kids were on spring break for this last week. I thought let’s start trying to teach him then. Hes the last one hopefully this will go smoothly…😂😂 nope. Even though he wants to be changed when he goes he didn’t want anything to do with any kinda toilets. Just like with all the other kids I get it … stepping behind the couch like an animal to do business and then jumping up yelling…. I peed! Is pretty cool… right? That moment of when everyone looks at you makes you feel special 😂. So we decided this time to go cold Turkey and straight into real underwear. Am I crazy to potty train when toilet paper is so hard to find? .. the answer is yes!!! I love my large family but I’m excited to not have to change diapers any more. So fast forward here we are at the end of our spring break and finally on our last day of break we are making some progress with sitting and going on the potty. I know that we still have some time to go before he fully gets it but I’m excited to not have to look over and see him stepping a side to the corner of the room like one of the ferrets to do his business.

Happy Easter to those who celebrate it. The kids had fun last night coloring some eggs. They did six dz and I did a few quail eggs.

I’m happy with how our colors turned out! I also gave the girls ( chickens) a Easter treat. Hard boiled eggs with some oregano.

Today after I was done making bread for my family I decided to clean up my craft area. I found my wood burning kit! I dont think I did to bad for my first time. I will have to practice lots more. I enjoyed doing this I wish I would of done it sooner.

Today was a normal day for us. We did school, cleaned up, and fed/watered the animals. Today I decided to make some butter. It came out nice in this photo I haven’t shaped it yet or squeezed out the buttermilk.

In the process of making the butter I did break my whisk for my mixer😭. I will have to wait until April 23rd until the new one comes.

Today after school I made distilled water! In away I felt empowered like how Tom Hanks character in the Cast Away movie when he finally makes fire. “I have made fire!” 😂 I can use the distilled water to make my own yeast. This will be a fun science project for the kids and I. I plan on using our science project to make bread! 😂 What are some of your favorite bread recipes? My favorite would be my cinnamon bread and of course my banana bread.
