When your kid is moving on to a new stage and you feel happiness but a little sadness…. I want to try to potty train number five soon. Honestly I was very excited about this. The thought of no more diapers made me want to do a happy dance, and if you know me, you know I don’t dance. That’s not something anyone wants to see😂😂. This past week, while the older siblings and I were once again looking for sippy cup, I thought maybe it’s time to just have him use a big boy cup all the time (he uses a normal cup with meals). The thought of no more diapers, and no more sippy cup made me realize that these are the last two baby items. That’s when the sadness comes. My last baby is growing up. As with my other four children, I will be there watching their new adventures, but remembering his old adventures, and sharing with him as he grows up all the crazy things he did as a toddler (I’m very sure his older siblings will be in on this also). Today after school I cleaned out the ferrets. The older kids like to watch them run around but the two younger ones like to throw their toys and have the ferrets ( their small toy balls and tug ropes) fetch them. The ferrets run after the toys but never bring them back. So in reality the ferrets have the two younger children trained. They go and get the toy and then throw it again😂😂. Today after I was done cleaning their cage out I went to look for them. Ghost is easy to find you just follow the water trail. He likes to go swimming in the dogs water dish😂😂. I however couldn’t find cashew she wasn’t in her normal places that she hides in. After getting everyone on deck to find cashew my second oldest finally found her, lol she was playing inside a box that I hadn’t gotten a chance to take out yet.

It’s hard to believe that Thanksgiving is almost here. It’s one of my favorite holidays. I love cooking everything but if I had to pick my most absolute favorite thing to cook for Thanksgiving it would be the turkey! Last night one of my best friends (miriyaquincrochet) and I went painting! We had a lot of fun painting these spooky ladies! It was a lot of work but well worth it in the end.

Today after the kids were done with school I made two different kinds of jam. One is strawberry kiwi and the other is strawberry currant, but I also got to finish working on a craft I’ve been wanting to do. Painting on wine glasses.

So what are meat spots or also called blood spots. They are caused when a blood vessel ruptures on the yolks surface while it is being formed. Probably won’t find one in your eggs from a commercial egg company. They discard those eggs during candling the eggs. Meat spots are perfectly fine to eat but if it does bug you just scoop it out with a spoon.

Chickens and quail can stop/slow down on laying eggs for a number of reasons. Could be do to stress, bad nutrition, they are molting, they are getting older, cold/heat, or less light due to the change of the seasons. For me its molting and the change of the seasons. Chickens need at lest 12 hours of light but 14 or 16 is best. Quail need at lest 14 hours but 16 is best. Some say this is nature’s way of letting the birds rest. If you want to keep them laying you can bring in artificial lighting. Just a normal light bulb will work. I saw some people use Christmas lights makes their coops/pens look very festive for the holidays.

It’s been a while sence I shared a photo of myself and with the girls ( chickens). Its gotten chilly where I live but I’m always cold. It was windy with some rain on the day I took these photos it was 51 out and yes I have on a beanie and gloves 😂😂.
